Tidal Energy Engineering Firm 2011 Mojo were delighted to receive the Tidal Energy Engineering Firm 2011 award at the 5th International Tidal Energy Summit held in London in late November. It is especially pleasing to win this prestigious title for the second year running and always an honour to receive an award voted for by our peers within the industry. The award was in recognition of our work with Bauer Renewables in late July 2011. Successfully combining drilling expertise with offshore and engineering experience, we installed a novel 2 metre diameter monopile foundation structure in a tidal race. Using a dynamically positioned vessel, the foundation was installed to schedule at the European Marine Energy Centre (EMEC) for client Voith Hydro. An exceptional challenge was posed not only by the drilling works at a water depth of 37 metres, but also by the extremely strong currents of up to 4.5 meters per second. We would also like to congratulate Voith Hydro and Bauer Renewables with whom we received the Most Effective Tidal Energy Project Development Of The Year for the monopole subsea drilling. We are looking forward to an exciting and challenging 2012. |
